Wedding planning in 9 stages!

Planning a wedding? Congratulations! Many have probably already told you that getting ready for a wedding is a difficult process. But this should not happen to you. Here are 9 steps to planning your wedding.

First step


  1. Approve your wedding budget.
  2. Start building a guest list based on your budget.
  3. Choose a wedding venue. Keep in mind that you could lose most of the guests on your list if you choose a location that’s difficult to get to.
  4. Start exploring the selected locations.
  5. Make sure your passports are in order and have a phrasebook if you are considering weddings abroad.
  6. Set a date.
  7. Choose a wedding company (those who help with the organization, bridesmaids, friends of the groom, witnesses).
  8. Browse magazines and blogs for inspirational photos. Collect a photo in the “Inspiration” section. You can use Pinterest to create a mood board.
  9. Start looking for wedding dresses. If you want to save money: Once Wed and Recycled Bride sell used dresses online.
  10. Start picking up wedding rings.

Second phase

  1. Choose a wedding venue and set a date.
  2. Start a wedding website.
  3. Finish creating a guest list with your families.
  4. Come up with text for the invitations.
  5. Find out what are the requirements in the registry office, where you plan to register.
  6. Find suppliers. Try to narrow your list down to 3 competitors in each category, and have a conversation with each to determine who fits the style of the wedding, fits into the budget, and suits you personally.
  7. Select graphic designers from among the guests and/or invite designers.

Stage three


  1. Hire a photographer! Try this as soon as you have chosen a date.
  2. Start looking for bridesmaid dresses.
  3. Consider outfits for the groom and his friends.
  4. Get samples of music for the ceremony and meet with the DJ to discuss your musical preferences.
  5. Find honeymoon destinations.
  6. Do a hair and makeup rehearsal. Try to combine it with a photoshoot.
  7. If you are going to do a pre-wedding photo session, schedule one.
  8. Start picking up wedding flights if you are planning to get married away from home.
  9. If you are using your accumulated miles to book your ticket, make sure you book early enough.
  10. Start looking for hotels for you and your guests.

Stage four

  1. Hire a hairdresser and makeup artist for your wedding.
  2. Hire a videographer.
  3. Order invitations and thank you notes.
  4. Choose a florist.
  5. Hire a lighting specialist if these services are not included in the venue rental.
  6. Hire a sound team and/or DJ.
  7. Complete hotel reservations for guests. Get in touch with guests closer to the date, as you will not receive any responses to your invitations by then.
  8. If the witness and witness haven’t started planning a bachelor party, now is the time.

Fifth stage

  1. Complete your outfits, including your wedding dress, bridesmaids dress, groom’s and groom’s outfits. Start picking up accessories.
  2. Book a transfer for guests.
  3. Think about gifts for each other.
  4. Book the rental of chairs, tables, tents, and textiles if the site does not provide these services.
  5. Finish your floral design discussion with your florist.

Sixth stage


  1. Sign the invitations or give it to the calligrapher.
  2. Order your wedding cake.
  3. Order programs if you have planned to print them in the printing industry.
  4. If you marry outdoors, take into account any vagaries of nature. Also order pointers, menu maps, accompanying cards, table number cards, and other printed materials.
  5. Finish preparing wedding compliments if you do.
  6. Take dance lessons if you plan to dance in a way that will impress.
  7. Plan a post-wedding breakfast if you want to spend a second day.

Seventh stage

  1. Send invitations.
  2. Apply for marriage.
  3. Choose gifts for everyone who helps in the organization.
  4. Select the texts of the oaths for the ceremony. Review passages from stories, poems, and poems.
  5. Choose the music for the ceremony. Check the duration.
  6. Choose suitable songs for the reception, the first dance and the father and daughter dance, select the song list with DJ.
  7. Check the list of frames with the photographer and videographer.
  8. Decide what you need for the look: manicure, extensions, painting.
  9. Have a bridesmaids dinner.

Eighth stage

  1. Contact guests for invitation responses.
  2. Start working on your seating plan.
  3. Sign accompanying cards and seat cards.
  4. Wear your wedding shoes at home.
  5. Find someone to look after the house while you are on your honeymoon.
  6. Assign and discuss responsibilities with girlfriends, friends, family members, and the wedding coordinator.

Ninth stage

  1. Review venue details, seating arrangements, equipment rentals, music, and transfers, and be sure to confirm this information, as well as any special details with your suppliers.
  2. Pass your welcome brochures and welcome gifts to the hotel rooms where guests will be staying.
  3. Visit a beauty salon for the final look.
  4. Send reminders and thank you notes to everyone involved with the wedding.
  5. Take part in the ceremony rehearsal with guests to “go over” timing, placement, and scheduled docking.
  6. Attend a rehearsal dinner and have fun!
  7. Prepare gifts for guests, grooms, and family members.
